But I suspect there's as many losses as gains for the most part.

I absolutely cannot speak of anyone BUT.....
I can't see how anyone consistently wins in a casino without some kind of insider advantage.
This is by no means to imply someone could not be so skilled as to win on wall Street consistently.
I just don't know enough about WS.
Most of my bigger sums came from importing goods by the container and retail/wholesale stores (back in the day).
It's a lot harder to succeed big at that today.
Wall Street is only one kind of investing.
Today I'm more of a real estate investor.
I look for houses in good markets under my "secret sauce circumstances", then buy them and renovate and resell or rent depending on the market and other factors.
My love would be to buy aircraft and flip them (figuratively, not literally).
I listened to a interview with Lacy Hunt - Senior economist at the Fed for 40+ years. He has completely flipped his thesis from deflation to inflation.
Listened to a couple with Jim Bianco. Same.
I had been in camp reflation myself until about 6 months ago switched to camp deflation but now I am doubting myself.

The stock market is not exactly like a casino and I do not approach it as such. I mean sure they both have risks and in some ways yes WS can be worse. We could go on about it, not trying to convince anyone, but the largest black box difference is simply the element of time. My viewpoint is this:
