A weird day today...................................

I got a call about an hour ago from a law firm.
A lady started asking me questions and I told her I have no idea what she is referring to.
I asked her to get me up to speed as this came out of the blue...

I long ago wrote it off but I lent out a large sum of money to a family friend for 30 to 60 days max as he was selling a commercial building
and he needed to get some things in order. That was in 2009.... I never got a dime, and the borrower could care less, long story.

So, the law firm tells me that the guy took out a lien in my name but not to protect me but it was a way to stop the IRS from taking it.
I do remember it, but I was told it was just to shield the owner.
She then tells me the Judge ruled in my favor- What??????? news to me and I am the only one getting paid and the rest goes to court fees and the lawyers. The lien from 2014 stipulated I would get 5% on the interest and late penalties and fees added and when I signed off on it I would get a check on the spot... I'll believe it when I see it.... The commercial garage was sold in bankruptcy....
I got paid yesterday....I don't expect a congratulations from this crowd... 😆

Weirdly they sent a paper for me to have notarized that I have accepted the cash and release the lien....
They should have done that before I cashed the check eh

Wow! - so, 17 years after the loan, and subsequent bankruptcy - they finally settled the claims?

I lent the money 17 years ago and received nothing. I never received any notice of any bankruptcy except when the lawyer called me above and we talked about the fact the judge ruled in my favor and I was entitled to Interest and penalties but it was reduced by $40k because the judge put a limit on my payout.. I assume to give others some restitution

I am not complaining as I long ago wrote it off and it has come at a great time...

The $25,000 Pattern Day Trader (PDT) rule and the four-trade limit have been officially eliminated.
Yeah !!!!!

No more suspensions for thee..

FINRA and the SEC have replaced the static $25,000 equity requirement with a dynamic, real-time intraday risk margin framework. While the $25,000 threshold is gone, a standard $2,000 minimum account balance to trade on margin and a 25% maintenance margin requirement still apply.

Several apps have already changed their platforms...

And i hung up... no, this really happened.. what a con artist..

Did you not block this guy's calls because you forgot, or because you wanted the entertainment?
