I would think many stocks will stop paying dividends after they tank. Boeing stopped paying dividends after they tanked from 2 crashes and CV19 back in 2020. Never started again.

That's what happened after the last housing bubble / Stock market crash around 2008. Some stopped paying and some others cut. Not everyone did either one. Took a few years to recover actual $ amount in dividends from my portfolio.

Are you saying that you have had dividend cuts already?
Because if that's how you are investing the dividend is all you should care about.
Not yet but the tariffs are going to put a dent in the cash flows. Even though there are 11 pages of exemptions, pharma and industrials are affected by the 104%. Oil is down so they are at risk, too. Selling cell phones is a big component of the telecommunications retail side so their dividends will be affected.

I was hoping this would be a quick process to bring the parties to the table but it's become a game of chicken with the other large economies.

Updated: Actually, come to think of it, PICK had already cut dividends.

Not really. Start looking at the ones that require a minimum of $500K in investments...and they don't have to be the ones that advertise nationally either. There are excellent ones that are regional/ local depending on where you live.

FYI, I was not singling you out on the "self" comment. It was more generalized towards those who are self directed. I believe, when you get to a certain point, advice can be an important option. Each to their own, of course.

Fair enough. I don't watch individual stocks. I don't have the time or inclination to do so. I simply glance at the DJIA and NASDAQ and I don't even do that daily. I pay a top notch wealth advisor and her entire team to do that and I'm quite satisfied with what they deliver.

The Schwab Wealth Advisory manages numerous products; I manage a few individual stocks, mainly options and grants from my working days. We take them out of the diversified equation due to their value.
