Greeting to all!

I'm using the the "Intervideo" DVD software to watch DVD's on my laptop.

When I watch a "widescreen" edition DVD, the picture of course appears on a "band", and not on the full screen.

Is there any way to get the picture to fill out the whole screen of the laptop? I fooled around with the software, but didn't find any.
Or can that be done only with a "real" dvd-plyaer and a TV?

Something tells me there should be a way to to view the dvd's in full screen, though...

Any advice is greatly appreciated.

Unless the DVD gives you the option for full screen, I don't think you will be able to change it.

You probably have a "zoom" option in your software. So if it's a widescreen movie letterboxed in 4:3, and you have a wider-than-4:3 monitor, it's getting "vertically letterboxed".

Alternatively, there could be a different version of the DVD-- they are sometimes available in pan & scan 4:3 or widescreen (theater) 16:9. Sometimes the reverse of the DVD is the other version!

Try opening the movie in windows media player, and hitting Alt+enter.
