Interval for Mobil 1 Extended Performance?

I've used it as a 12 month oil. Worked out to about 11500 miles.
unless you short trip, 1 year or 15k
i am running it at 6 months and 5 to 6k on the wife^s car with most trips under 5 miles and with 93k burnes one-half quart per oil change.
I have run it for over 10,000 miles; no problems.
I ran it for 10,700 miles with a TBN of 4.1, but added 1 qt during this period. I did have high aluminum and iron count. But can't blame it on oil, it's easily capable of 10,000 miles on most cars and probably 15,000 miles on some application. I would do a used oil anaylsis around 8,000 to see where your heading with it.

The only good reply right here. Instead of just speculating and going off of other people's opinions, do a used oil analysis to determine the condition of the oil based on your engine and driving style. This will tell you far more information then any of us ever could.
Mobil 1 Extended Performance does contain stronger / more additives then regular M1, so TECHNICALLY, it should be able to go longer. I'd also say that 10k is do-able if your driving conditions don't fall under the SEVERE service category.

You didn't read the first post very well... He's already doing 7,500 mile intervals with regular M1.
A good way to compare the two oils would be to pull a sample of regular M1 @ 7,500 to see it's condition.
Then pull a sample of Mobil 1 Extended Performance @ 7,500 miles and compare to see how much more life the EP has over regular M1 and determine how much further you can go with it.

I run the EP in my "02 Explorer and have been for the last 75k miles. Works like a charm with 10-11k oci's and no usage in between. And my usage would be considered severe by some stands, but I feel it could be worse if I towed a trailer or ran highways at high speeds. There's 137k plus on it with no motr issues.,,

That seems a pretty decent short-trip strategy.

Well regular M1 has 10K warranty, and that's what I run 0-20 out to and sometimes a little further with no problems at all and with no UOA. A friend brings his 03 Windstar over for oil changes and he does 15K and more wirh Mobil 1 Extended Performance 5w30. He now has 150+K and his engine is very clean and runs great.

As dparm said with blackstone its $25.00 for basic and so on. You can also go to a NAPA Store and get a kit for $14.00 already with pre-paid postage.

does cat still have there sos sampling program, i use to run a 84 vw 1.6 diesel on syn hdeo's and blackstone was 20 dollars and cat sos was around ten
