Looking into the western evening sky,I noticed what I thought was Venus ,then I remembered ...wrong time of year.My search came up with this site about the real-time position of the ISS.Anybody with no cloudiness east of the terminator should be able to see its' reflection at about 30 to 40 degrees above the western horizon with the un-aided eye.

Try to catch it when the space shuttle is approaching / leaving the ISS. Years ago, we had a guy at work that was into this. He clued me in that it would be worth looking for very early one morning. I got up early, went outside, and son of a gun... First came one, then another, unusually bright stars racing across the heavens, the ISS and the space shuttle. I still remember that morning.
