I'm getting ready to paint my living room and hall way. Any BITOG recommendations for the absolute most durable wall paint? I have 2 young girls so I need to be able to clean the walls as well. I have access to all of the major brands...Ben Moore, Muralo, ICI, Sherwin Williams, Duron, Pratt & Lambert and M.A.B. Any suggestions are much appreciated.

Duron, MAB and Sherwin Williams are fundamentally the same since Sherwin bought out the first two. They'll play pricing games with you. Try PPG or ICI.
I've used Benjamin Moore on most of my interior, a very good paint in my tests
Benjamin Moore is good paint,and a good value.
I've had good luck with sears paint also.
Sherwin williams is over priced and over rated.

I used a Sherwin Williams product I think it was called EverClean. It was a scrubbable and very durable paint. Got me thru my son's toddler years and always washed up well and looked good. Only thing I remember was that it was hard to use when painting as in it was thick and did not spread as easily.
Oil based flat for bedrooms, hallways and so on.
Oil eggshell or semi-gloss for baths or kithchens.
Brand does not matter.
Goes on well, covers well, holds up well.
I would love to hear from Demarpaint on this, but the only reason I can see to use latex is easy clean-up.
I have used both, and an alkyd oil beats any latex any way you look at it.

Oil base paint is out of the question. No way my family is breathing that stuff. From what I have read the new waterborne finished are superior to oil paint anyway.
Sears has their paint on sale regularly and it's made by Sherwin Williams.

Benjamin Moore in their "Matte" finish, or "Aquavelvet" if you want the eggshell finish. Dead flat looks the best but doesn't wash well especially on sheetrock. If you can buy Muralo Paints get the Ceramic finish, for an almost flat look, or their Eggshell finish for a little bit of a shine. In 30 years of professional painting I've BM and Muralo to be about the best, and trust me I've tried just about everything.
Consider this, if you have sheetrock walls with any blems the eggshell finish shows them more than a dead flat or matte finish. HTH

Sherwin Williams Harmony; zero VOC, almost no smell, covers great and is easy to paint with.
Forget fooling around with oil, except maybe for trim.

It is easy to fix compared to eggshell, satin, and semi gloss, which almost certainly requires the whole ares to be painted to match without showing a repair sport.
You want some shine to the paint, not flat. Ceilings are always great in flat, however. Flat hides imperfections much better than anything with a shine. And there WILL be imperfections.

I'm leaning toward the Muralo UltraCeramic but has anyone tried the Ben Moore Aura in a matte finish?
