Benjamin Moore or Pittsburgh interior paint

As mentioned the paint used prior was a low end BM product. Pittsburgh makes low end builder's grade as well as premium grade paints. Aura is BM's top of the line, overrated and overpriced in my professional opinion. If you plan on using BM paint I would use their Select line, which uses the same colorant system as Aura. Having said that Behr top of the line products are very good as well and cheaper than the comparable BM products. Not long ago consumer reports rated Behr products highly. I had a few customers specify Behr paint over the years and tried it. I did an exterior job a town over with it 12 years ago and it still looks good. If I were you, I'd read up on the Behr product line and try and convince your mom to use it, if you want a good paint and want to save some coins over BM. Whatever you do don't use the BM Ultra Spec, it's garbage.

My parents are landlords (of about 10 units total) and they have used Kelly Moore for a few years now, they like it better than Behr, but they haven't used Ben Moore before (harder to find than Kelly Moore).

So far they are happy with it.

PPG Speedhide Pro EV Zero is the paint I used on the interior walls of my former home. Porter Advantage 900 for the doors and trim. These two paints cover really well.

Berkshire Hathaway (Warren Buffet) owns Benjamin Moore cuz he knows people will pay a premium for it. That alone tells me it's marked-up. Behr or Valspar are just as good, and you're paying a fair price.

My mom wants to know what paint I want to use and she will decide on the colors.
I had a home built in 2017 and the painter used Benjamin Moore Ultra Spec 500 which looks fantastic.
There is a Pittsburgh paint store near me and I'm considering using Manor Hall.
I'm not going to use Sherwin Williams, Behr or anything else unless my mom wants me to.

I've used every brand of paint you can think of and Benjamin Moore is the best. It's so good that I even considered opening a Ben Moore store back in the early 2000's, because I believe strongly in the quality. If you liked the Ultra Spec, you'll love the higher lines. Every coating in my home, from the kitchen cabinet stain and poly to the deck stain, to the exterior paint and every interior room is Benjamin Moore. I used PPG once several years ago. PPG makes a good product, but I had bad luck with it. It wouldn't dry!!?? Anyway, in my opinion it's obvious your folks are not in the poor house, so the cost should be the last thing on your mind. Plus paint generally stays on the surfaces for a long [censored] time. Give 'em the best and call it a day.

Kelly-Moore is the way to go in the Bay Area, for the paint projects I've done, I have yet to be disappointed. OSH carried Ben Moore after it fell into Lowe's hands when Sears sold them. They used to carry Glidden before. I've wonder why Lowe's didn't push OSH to carry Valspar?
