I used Promar 200 for a house that was going for sale. It's a builder's grade that can be left as is or used as a base for something the next owner to paint over.

Cedar clapboard siding. Big house took an elapsed month. Paint was Benjamin Moore Regal. Even 25 gallons would have been less than $1000.

I'm a Glidden / PPG guy. I appreciate the fact it can be had at Home Depot. I appreciate independent store but nights and weekends faaageeetttaaaboutit. So bid box in convenient. I detest Behr however. Glidden / PPG have served me well.

I've had the same experiences with Glidden - PPG did revitalize that brand. Behr has also improved but still has issues with colorfastness. If I have to use Behr, it's for interior stuff and things I don't care about like apartments. I've helped my dad put on some Behr Ultra on a rental and it's not terrible. I haven't seen the house in a while to see how it's holding up.

I wished Home Depot sold PPG Breakthrough for cabinets and trim.

PPG reserves their best paints for PPG paint store locations. PPG Manor Hall interior paint is PPG's best interior paint for the home owner. It levels out, hides brush marks from cut in's and looks great. Used it with great results at my parents little summer house on Lake Erie.

We used SW Cashmere for the interior areas of our house other than bath and kitchen and it was an absolutely lovely paint to work with. Went on smooth, not too thick, not to thin, dried fast but not too fast. It was the just easiest paint to apply out of all the various brands and lines I've used over the years. The rooms all turned out great. No corn rows from the roller, even texture and sheen on the finish. We used the Low Lustre which is basically eggshell finish.

And yeah, buy paint at the SW store when they are having a big sale. I've only used the SW paint from Lowes once, but it was not nearly the same stuff.

I used cashmere once and seemed like good paint but the issues I have with it are that the sheens are off. The low-lustre, which to me should be close to an eggshell or a satin, is almost like a Semi-Gloss.

Last night I picked up a gallon a Superpaint Satin (closest one I could get to eggshell) using my buddies discount for $25, retail price was $60.99, so that was nice.
