If you add more VI improver to a 10w30 you get a 10w35 or a 10w40 NOT a 5w30.

Perhaps he was thinking of PPD's?

Just dropped my factory fill and added TA 5w30 to my new Tacoma this afternoon along with LC, sorry to the purist out there but I have a bad LC habit

Seems to me that the Trop Artic has a better film than some other oils,thus improving blow by in the ring belt and worn valve stems,due to the G-3 and 2 blends,they also have a bit different add pac also,very good,results can be said after a few change outs,filteration can be a factor also for a cleaner oil apperance,detergences and dispersents give up the crud in filter more easy,rather than cling to lubricant instead of continual suspension in a new oil.BL
