Interesting linear engine prototype - weighs 35 lbs.

Interesting. The American public won't like the pop-pop-pop sound so a really quiet exhaust will be needed if powering a car. Cool though!!!

With a single cutout for each...disk?...rotor?...it will be unbalanced at high rpm. They'll need to have two (or more, balanced) cutouts to make it work.

So it is glorified straight cut gears with combustion occurring between the two gears? I won’t hold my breath for this one.

Looks like a terrific design to me! If you think this thing will vibrate a lot, I sure don't see it in the running example. It certainly can't be as bad as 4 reciprocating pistons!

My apologies, I also meant to attach this video where Autoline has a more in depth interview with the developers.

They do a better job explaining how it works and the initial use cases for this engine.

Fascinating. I’d like to see one run. I think it would be picky to fuel/oil/contamination in similar manner as the wankel, namely with that “tooth” and all of its time spent scrubbing on the inside of its arc.
