A few weeks ago I saw a letter in our local Wheels section of the Toronto Star, where the
person writing in the letter bought a new van and wanted to run synthetic with extended
oil change intervals. The writer for the column advised him against it, and pushed the typical
5000km oil change up here (3100 miles) Being an oil nut, I just had to speak up. Here is
my reply:

I did mention it actually! The letter I wrote them was a lot longer, but they edited it for content obviously. I wish they had included this site's address, there are a lot of readers of the Wheels section!

Dominic, how'd you know I was Italian?

Since that article posted my email address, one person emailed me from my area this morning and asked me where to get oil analysis done, so I referred him to Terry. I also mentioned this site too, so hopefully we'll get another new member! This person is already doing 7500km oil changes with synthetics, and I opened his eyes to possibly extending even further, with oil analysis. Awesome!
