Over the past couple of years, I have become suspicious of the oil manufacturer's labelling of their "fully synthetic" oil.

Came across this youtube discussion with amsoil which shed some light on the subject for me.

The biggest take away for me was that they use group III base oil for their synthetic oil.

It seems the days of pure group IV/ V synthetic oil have gone by and the products have become a rarity.

NOw I can rest in peace:)

Yet another “what’s a real synthetic” thread along with yet another discussion about Group III base stocks vs. Group IV/V along with yet another discussion of Amsoil, all with a video that’s been posted before.

This specious video has been posted before.

You can Rest In Peace, if you like, comforted by the ignorance of this video, or you can read what Molakule has to say.

But this thread doesn’t deserve to go anywhere.

Like thick vs. thin, it’s another dead horse, flogged by another who thinks the debate is new.
