I had a similar problem with my 5.7 Vortec in a '97 C2500. I went under the truck with a light and was able to look "upstream" until I saw where the coolant was coming from. I patted myself on the back for the diagnosis, since at the time I hadn't heard about all the intake manifold gasket problems with GM and Dexcool. I thought it was a fluke. Took me forever to complete the replacement (hey, I got to drive the Z28 while the truck was in the garage), but I finally got it done. Unfortunately with the factory gaskets that will start leaking again in 4 years or so.
I'm about to do the job on a '01 Alero with the 3.4L engine, and I now know to use the Felpro Problem Solver gasket kit.
If you look, you can see where it's coming from. Jack the truck up on stands, and wiggle up behind the engine with a light.
