Where do diabetics get your insulin supplies ?

I have a t:slim x2 insulin pump and I get all my supplies directly from tandem. My insulin I just get from the local pharmacy inside Albertsons.
If you're new to the diabetic world, contact your insurance company and specifically ask how they treat these kind of supplies. Mine treats them as DME (durable medical equipment), even test strips and lancets. They're certainly not DME in my eyes, but they are in theirs. There are also many programs within insurance companies that get you a free meter once a year, as needed.

I got my insulin at WalMart for $25/vial. No prescription required! Not sure if it's still $25/vial since it's been around 3 years since I've needed any insulin.
From my insurance/provider, which is Kaiser Permanente.
Too bad in CA, Amazon won't ship pen needles to me, so I have to go through insurance
But Glucose meter, strips and Lancets through Amazon. As I use a Dario meter, which plugs into your mobile phone.

I need insulin pens both long life and short.
My daughter has Type 1 diabetes. We get all her stuff through Express Scripts.

Do they send everything refrigerated or temperature monitored? I would be concerned about the medicine denaturing in who knows what kind of temperature extremes are encountered in the mail.I use LANTUS insulin every morning, Express Scripts.
Mine come in foam containers with ice packs inside,
I use CGM to monitor sugar.
I am on Medicare and not sure if Lantus or Novolog pens are covered.

They send the insulin in a styrofoam cooler with ice packs every time.
You will have to look it up in that phone book sized guide that Medicare sends out every year. If this is one of those Advantage plans then check with them.
Didn't get insulin, but I remember back when my wife was pregnant she had gestational diabetes and the supplies came through some supplier that worked with the insurer. I looked it up and I think it was Mini Pharmacy out of Los Angeles. They shipped everything except the medications (might have been glyburide) which we could pick up at any pharmacy. But they automatically sent the other supplies (as specified by her doctor) including the blood glucose reader, the test strips, lancets (although she needed more), and other assorted stuff like a sharps container. We couldn't control the orders and they even sent more test strips after my wife gave birth and was cleared.
She was miserable though not being able to eat what she wanted, especially with all sorts of pregnancy cravings. And she hated taking blood samples, and asked me to take a sample out of solidarity. I've given blood before so it wasn't a big deal even though I hate needles and lancets.

I ended up purchasing the Novolog and Lantus pens through EXPRESS SCRIPTS. Novolog $35 and Lantus was $78.33
Continuous Glucose monitor is the best way to go for me. One shoulder sensor every 14 days.
