Recently got this used tool on Marketplace for $250, and coming from eBay/Amazon dongles - it's quite nice and capable enough for a DIYer.

But I did run into an issue and wondering if anyone else here has same tool, or more experience with these scantools in general, to maybe help me out here.

On my 2012 Toyota Prius C (know as Aqua or Yaris Hybrid outside of US) I just replaced the Brake Master Cylinder and ABS accumulator, due to the Toyota Hybrid common C1391 failure code. I was trying to use the "ABS Bleeding" function on the tool, but after going through multiple direction steps it keeps hitting an "Error, Try again?" message. During this process I do not hear or feel anything activating or trying to air bleed. I did make sure that the tool was fully updated. The brake reservoir is also full. But I haven't mechanically bled the air lines yet. Was hoping to bleed the ABS first, and then bleed lines at each wheel.

Any idea what I'm doing wrong? Or what may be causing the ABS air bleed error? Just trying to figure out if it's a tool issue, a vehicle issue, or something else entirely that I'm missing. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Did you connect a battery maintainer/charger to the 12V before initiating? Not saying that is your issue, but with a weaker 12V battery, this could be a contributing factor. I always set up my maintainer to provide a solid 13.0-13.2v when performing this task.

Also, go into the ABS menu and select air bleed - actuator replaced. That should be the sequence to be followed. The guided function should cycle the ABS modulator and assist with setting the fluid level at the end.

The 12V battery is pretty new and fully charged. The ScanTool is powered by its own battery, so it's not stealing the car's 12V. On the menu I select ABS, the only option is Air Bleed, and then message windows tell me to keep engine OFF, ignition ON and start procedure. Then Error and back to square one. I'll dig around to see if I can find an option for "Actuator Replaced".
Still learning this thing, so thank you for the tips!

Make sure the parking brake is also set.

When you are key on/engine off, a significant load is applied to the 12V battery, resulting in a voltage drop to 11.5-12v. Battery charger should be used to keep battery voltage above 12.6v.

That is Innova's best scanner but I have read quite a few reviews where people have said that some of the functions don't work. I have the Innova 5610 which leaves a lot to be desired and is why I have several other more expensive scanners that do pretty much everything.
