Got a litre of the briggs stratton 5w30 sythetic winter oil for the 5 hp snow blower tecumseh. Works fine, but is there any info on this oil? Is it a HD oil, could I just as well use a 5w30 dexos2, what is it comparable to?

IMO I'd stick with the Briggs oil,i assume it would have a better add pack designed/targeted for small engine applications.

I had posted stuff years ago on this oil. I ran it in a 08 Yaris and it ran great. Oil has(had) big ZDDP. It was blended by a minor oil co in Louisianna or nearby. I have the PDF at home if you want me to PM it to you. Dont know if your source is same as USA - prob NOT do to prohibitive shipping costs.

I'd like to see a current VOA on the stuff, wouldn't use it any way as i use Amsoil ACD,but still curious to see.

On the B&S website, the only oil they refer to as "winter oil" is 5w30 conventional. They say that synthetic 5W30 is their best recommendation for temperatures from minus 20 to +120.
