It's more about the fact that interest in motorcycles has been declining for awhile. Boomers are simply getting old enough to stop riding, or dying off. GenX (my generation) is getting up there in age too, and there simply weren't as many of us to begin with. Our kids (gen Z) despite being around motorcycles their entire lives, and having both parents riding, have no interest in riding on the street. They did ride dirtbikes a bit, but that interest has passed, or is at least on hold while they start their own families.
I have family who owned a M/C dealership, they got out of the business almost 10 years ago, as they saw the market declining. The dealership where I bought our newest sportbike, is surviving on SxS sales and service.
