In Bed Fuel Tanks for Gast Trucks

I did a search on this forum with no results. This seems to be a fairly nebulous issue.

Is anyone using an inbed auxillary fuel tank in their truck and what brand is it? I have found a few on internet searches but that only muddied the water for me.

I know that it is common with diesel pickups and that they can just route a line to the fuel filler area to gravity feed it. The systems I looked at say you have to have a fuel pump to pump it into the primary tank for a gas truck.

Too, I worry about safety. I know the auxillary tanks are heavier than the OE. Being bolted into the front of the bed seems like a relatively secure location. I only want like a 40 gallon tank, but heck, that is enough to fry you to a crisp.

Also, anyone know what type of fumes they put out. I park in a garage, I have a cap on my truck and use it to transport our dog on long trips as well.

Here it needs to be plummed into the charcoal canister system to pass emission inspection.

I had a 130 litre propane tank mounted up behind the passenger compartment on on of my utes.

Was happier having it away from placed that people were likely too hit me.
