Reminds me of when I helped a young Indian guy. Decades ago, he wanted to avoid fouled plugs so he bought spark plugs extenders. It was a piece of steel tubing with a male & female for spark plugs threads. It mounted the plug maybe 1" from where it was suppose to be.
Then he wanted to check compression and I suggested a little oil in the cylinder to check for bad rings. He came back the next day and said he put 1/2 cup in each cylinder and was that enough?
He was pretty young and did not know a lot about cars. Nice enough guy. I taught him a lot about networking over the next year or two.
He also gave me the system password we used to logon a remote system. It was several letters and the letter etch. After a few minutes I told him I looked up and down the keyboard and there was no etch.
