2012 silverado 2500hd 6.0LY6. motor miles unknown as i swapped this motor into this truck a while back.
in service 6100miles

out/off: bulk valvoline quick lube oil with IFA metrostreet m2222

in/on: Valvoline Extended Protection High Mileage 5w30 with Purolator Boss PBL22500

filter looks okay, this motor is either very dirty or the garbage quicklube oil was sludging up.

That oil does look a bit like molasses. Probably the used motor you swapped in is running a bit hotter than it should & causing it to oxidize?

Nothing a dose of HPL wouldn’t clean right up

I'd run an engine flush or 2 on that. Real dirty and loaded for the amount of miles.

fleet vehicle just from our other office. i’ll make sure it doesn’t go to any more quick lubes. it’ll be getting transfered over the HPL sooner than later. still working out the final purchase quantity.
