Change it out. Fresh fluid exchange with Eneos Eco-ATF on a 2001 Toyota Tundra V8. Had to replace weeping P/S return lines under the truck so why not jack up the truck, put the return line into a jug and turn the wheel left to right a couple times. Prior fill of Valvoline DexVI still looked good with its typical used burnt smell.
This was at night pointing a bright LED flashlight onto the reservoir. Sorry for the ham in a can pumps and non-transparent PSF reservoir guys though.

power steering fluid doesn't really ever need to be changed. Also, most factory-fill PSF isn't red, even when they just use Dexron/ATF

This is its 3rd fluid exchange at 155,000mi. I was able to use one bottle for the whole fluid exchange. Yeah title says PSF and I used ATF but most of the vehicles I've serviced uses Dexron as power steering fluid. GM/Chrys/VAG/Honda gets their own different type of PSF when I work on those.

That really depends on the usage & the vehicle, Trucks with Hydroboost that get worked hard murders PSF in short order.

My PSF is Purple.............

Back in my consumer car repair days I encountered quite a few people that had that same philosophy. Of course the reason I became acquainted with them, is because I was replacing their power steering rack, pump, etc..
