IE11 problems with youtube/Google+

My computer has an issue with Youtube's Google+ integration. When I use IE11 watching Youtube and click the little bell in the upper right corner to view my comments/replies in Google+, I get this message:

"It looks like you have enabled Internet Explorer Compatibility View. Google+ works best if you turn this off. Learn how to do this"

The problem is, I don't have compatibility View enabled for youtube!

Has anyone else had this problem? Thanks. I wish they'd have just kept Youtube separate from Google+ as it's been a nightmare getting it to work smoothly.

I think there were some big changes to Google+ lately that broke a lot of things. There were recent complaints from iOS users on how certain functionality didn't work as expected after Google+ was more heavily integrated.

I'd roll back to IE10 or use a different browser for now.

IE11 has some issues.. mostly not noticeable.

also google+ has alot of issues.

yea, I guess I'll have to keep using Firefox. Bummer as I'm starting to like IE11. Thanks.

Google has practically destroyed Youtube over the last week. i don't know if anyone else has noticed in their subscription feed, the "load more" button is gone, limiting the number of new vids that show up in the list. It still shows up in "what to watch". I think they're essentially trying to limit independent content and focus more on the big players on YouTube that can generate the most ad money. It's really starting to ^%$! me off.

Google was always positioned to be the next Microsoft. Not sure why this sort of thing surprises you.

it will be ok.. just wait 2-3 more years someone will come along with a youtube replacement and google will wonder how their billions spent on youtube is failing.


The wont stay on hd is frustrating

why does it default to auto and 360p when I have a 1080p monitor and im running full screen?

the whole HD SD button thing is annoying too.

There are already some alternatives to YouTube. Vimeo and others. There needs to be competition so that no one corporation becomes too powerful. Because as soon as somebody gets too powerful they abuse their power.

That's a tough game to get into, Mystic, because of the scale of the existing players. To be able to provide the services they provide and somehow pay for bandwidth and hardware and software development and staff... Yikes! Content delivery (which, by it's very nature is centralized) is a *very* tough industry to "start small" and work your way up!
