Idling for ~15 minutes with A/C on

Its not uncommon for common for utility and service trucks to run all shift, typically mostly idling.

My truck is my office, if its not nice out or if I'm having a conversation I don't want everyone to hear my windows are up and the ac/heat is on. Gas is cheap and motors don't wear out from idling.

On some busy days where I'm bouncing to multiple job sites I might start my truck at 7ish and not shut it off until lunch.

My 13 year old pickup with 173K on the original A/C and engine idles for over 15 minutes at a time several times a week in 90*F + temps.

If your car has problems from idling, it already did and you just didn't know it yet.

If the cooling system and oiling system are properly filled and working there should be no problem idling for 15 minutes.

I lived in Guam for ten years, and believe me, we slept and ran the AC a LOT because of typhoons and the brown tree snake that would cause the power to be off of days at a time. Never had a problem with any of my cars there...I had a Mazda truck, Subaru Justy, Datsun B210 and a Honda Accord.
