I have zero clue what this truck is. Seen in my hometown this week. The grill was foreshadowing what was to come. Way before its time :)

Ashville, NC ca 1980 was my last sighting of one.
Maroon with white wheels and roof as I recall.
So good lookin', I took a photo.

Can you pick out the aluminum parts in the OP?

Wow, I want it! No exterior restoration at all. New mechanicals and new interior and it's perfect.

My friend called his Lark and Champion "Stupidbaker". The Champion looks the same going forward and backward. My friend hired my brother to install a SB Chevy and trans in the 80's so he could actually drive it. Still has it, I believe.

Grills are very important on trucks. I don't know what to say about this one. At least the rust softens things a little. If only it had a push button automatic transmission shifter.

My old co worker from South Bend Indiana had one, among 5-6 other Studes. His Dad and Grandpa both worked at the factory. He knew as much as the Studebaker tour guide when he took me to the factory there. The holy grail is to find a 4x4 version.

Imagine if that truck was actually 100% perfect, not a speck of rust on it, and all that patina was just painted-on faux rust.

This 1949 has been in my wife’s family since new. Her dad grew up riding around rural Wisconsin in it with her great grandfather. It sat in a barn for a long time and her dad had it restored about 10 years ago. I hope it will be my son’s someday as the value is more sentimental than anything.
