In general, what are the best ingredients you want to see in a fuel injector/system cleaner for best results - alcohols, pet. distillates, poly-amine(?), jet fuel, light oils, detergents...? there are just SOOO many products of this kind out there, I'm trying to figure out which one is best, including those that may not originally be designed as a fuel system cleaner (ie ATF and MMO mix....)

the chemical company BASF either makes polyetheramine or sells it, maybe you can get in contact with them.... no idea if they, or anyone, will sell it to you.

this guy claims chevron oronite chemical division sells it to "well known" customers to make additives with....then again he also claims all gas is the same, aside from ONE quart of additive per tanker

I keep hearing that PEA(the amine cleaner in regane and techron).
Personally I have used most all of them and feel Gumout Regane to be the best bang for the buck. Techron is ok but I have noticed it sometimes takes 2 tankfuls to clear gunkups. Regane has never failed to completely restore my performance in a tankful. Regane is a bit cheaper to.
At walmart a 12oz bottle of techron is 6.12
where a Regane bottle that is made to treat more gas than techron is only 5.32.
One thing I have found is that the Gumout large vehicle fuel system cleaner has the EXACT same cleaner(PEA) as regane in the same proportion 30-40% but it comes in a 20oz bottle and to top it off, walmart has them on clearence for 5.00 a bottle. It may or may not be a good idea to dump a whole bottle into a smaller fuel tank all at once but hey it could give you a couple doses.
