I would hope not, those cars were crude and wretched handling.

put the hybrid system with a 1.5L engine in the cobalt. get 50 mpg. sell for 17k max. watch them sell like hotcakes.

I don't know why they aren't selling more of the model range over there.

We've got 6s and 8s, wagons, utes, extended wheelbase 4 door utes, 4WD wagons and 4 door utes all on that platform down here.

Try the G8s little brother.

2.5l I-6, or turbodiesel.

They've just canned the utes going to Pontiac.

That your dart in your sig line? Nice car! Slant 6 in that?

1970's Dart/Dusters were awesome, simple cars. Step-dad had a brown 1975 duster slant-6 for a year or so in the 1980's. Neat car.

Ya and yes it has the leaning tower of power in it. It just hit 200K miles not to long ago...gets 20-22mpg highway.

Very nice - a classic that gets used and is practical...love hearing that!

What oil do you run in it?

Ive been running Valvoline conventional in all my rides for years. But after reading some here im going to try using the dino supertec oil. I change the oil every 3K miles. Wix #51515 fits everything i own (except the bike lol) so i buy them in bulk.

Up until i got the free K-car this fall the dart was my year round car. Im going to rebuild the suspension this winter and put disc brakes on the front. 9" manual drum brakes all around is a little tricky when everyone in front of you has ABS and disc brakes

Me neither, you could not give me a front wheel drive automobile, but my taste in automobiles is not shared by the overwhelming majority of Americans.

I think one of the reasons SUV's and pickups remain popular is the RWD architecture.

The Ute will not be coming here BTW, it was announced a couple of days ago. I didn't think Holden had the production capacity to supply many more cars than Pontiac gets, anyway.

Dodge is best poised for this with the RWD 300 line. They'd have to stretch the nose, but, hey, lots of cars back then had tons of overhang. Maybe a different fender treatment so 14" steelies with dog dish hubaps look "right".

I'm not seeing the benefit of RWD for maintenance, except that coincidentally most RWD cars were built in a simpler time frame with squarer bodies with more room. On my FWD car front disc brakes are silly easy b/c of sealed front bearings. Ball joints are unloaded and struts can be dismantled off the car. True, shocks are easier to handle than struts, but the struts keep the springs in check for any other front end work. Getting one ball joint out of my Sonoma was a nightmare. I brought home a cheap saturn that needs a clutch, last one took me eight hours, my goal is six this time.

Sure I wouldn't want a VW W-8 Jetta, but that's an albatross anyway...

Meh, I'm not impressed at all with the FWD/ transverse engine set up. It was designed to be cheap to make, not easy to work on. In order to change the belts on a Honda CRV, you have to remove the LF wheel and a motor mount. I had to pull th head on it to replace a couple of burnt valves. It was the worst repair I have ever had to do on any car. I would have had an easier time if I had started by pulling the engine out.

The oil plug, spark plugs, oil filter, and coolant reservior cap are easy to get to on my 02 Cavalier Ecotec. The rest, in 140K, I haven't had to touch.
