Okay, now I understand. It was a little weird to my eyes when I saw the photo.
I'm trying to take some more pics with my camera....but I want to do it with the top lowered. I love the look of the tan leather with the black. Trouble is, the manual says not to lower the top if it's below 40 degrees because the fabric top can get damaged. It stiffens up when it's cold...and it's in the 30's most of the day.
So...no pics for a while.

My wife and I got to sit in one a couple weeks ago for the first time.
It's a tighter interior fit for us than in our Cayman, that's for sure.
I bet that smile doesn't fade for a good long time.

Yes, it's tiny inside and out....but really very comfortable considering what it is. Some folks have mentioned excessive noise with the top up. We don't notice that at all. But it does fit like a glove. Trunk space is pretty ample...but no traditional glove box in the interior.
We just got back from a long drive. I'm driving it on all the backroads around here and varying the RPM's as well as the ring pressure (positive and negative). No redline stuff, that's for sure. I'll hold off on really pushing the car until it's got over 600 miles.

He mentioned elsewhere that the very low seating of the Mazda was causing him back problems getting in and out of the car and had to get rid of it.

I went to the dealer to check out a Fiat 124 Spider (Miata clone) and I'll say you really have to contort yourself to get in and out of that thing. And you better not be a big guy, or you're not fitting! It's like a glove once you get in it though.

For top down driving there is very few places in continental US is better than So Cal.
The reasons are: we have very few rainy days, on average less than 10 days a year, from May till November we have less than 0.1% change of any drop of water falling from the sky. I even removed the wiper blades from my Honda, never used it from May to Nov.
The last 2-3 summers were hotter than normal, we used to have mid 70F to low 8F from June till September, then possible few days in high 80F to low 90F in September. Nice weather for top down.
Winter months we usually have mid 60F to low 70F during the day and low to mid 50F in the evening. Nice weather for top down all winter long except few rainy days a year.
I don't like to brag, but the true is I love to drive with top down in winter evening more than summer day and night. Cool air over my head and warm air on the body is just feel so good.

Bad decision as far as investment.
The car was attractive and fun, but getting in and out of it was better suited to the younger people or at least those with healthy backs. I am not either.

I don't have back problem so getting in and out of my S2000 with top up is okay, it is a little more difficult than E430 but no problem for me.
The best attributes of a small convertible car is driving on winding mountain road with top down on a sunny but cool winter day. The only better is motorcycle.
