I want to switch from a straight axle to a drop trailer axle

How do you do this because I'm thinking the hub face to face length needs to be a bit longer on the drop axle otherwise the drop portion of the axle is just going to hit the frame, so I don't think it's as simple as measuring the existing axle and transferring the measurements.

Anyone know how to do this? This trailer has a 4" C channel frame.

The axle manufacturer should have a drawing with the width between the riser parts-- that of course needs to be wider than the frame. Usually this is not much of an issue because the riser is almost inside the tire anyway.

I may need to just call dexter axle directly. You call the distributors and they don't know anything....
