I tried the H2O injection

Hey guys , Over the weekend i tried the water injection into the TB.
I bought a spray bottle at the dollar store, and a 4litre jug of windshield washer fluid,
I thought I would use that because it has some alcohol in it.
I drove my car for 10 minutes to let it get good and hot, I left the engine running as I hook off the intake hose to the throttle body.
I had the sprayer mist the water into the engine as I increased the throttle.
At first I used half a litre, put my intake back together, and went off for a 5-8 munite drive,
I could feel a big difference in throttle response right away ,
I came back home and did the same thing again with half a litre of windshield fluid
All together I used 1 litre, and my car is a 2000 civic Si.
Its been a few days and I dont think its the placebo effect. And i really thought that my engine internals were spotless to begin with.

Next weekend I plan on doing this to my other cars as well.........

Water and alcohol work great in engine injection. World War II planes used it for added power.
But that windshield washer fluid has a LOT of mineral residue in it. Just let some dry and see all the crud left behind. I would use common isopropyl alcohol [usually sold as 70%, the rest H2O].

I never thought of that , I will give that a try.
the reason I used windshield washer fuild,
was because one of my friends uses the stuff on his supercharged civic, and had not complained of any problems ?

It was easy to do , more gear heads should try it , I am very Happy with the results

You can also use Techron or sea foam. What to the FP people say about using FP this way?

I dont mean to hijack this thread but I have a question. I have a 2001 Honda Civic and am planning on trying this over the weekend. I was wondering what number on the picture below is the intake hose to the throttle body?

I took off the large tube , that connects to your air filter.

and sprayed right into the throttle body directly.

with the engine running, opening the butterfly by hand....
i think doing this once a year or every 6months would be good in keeping the engine clean.
I do 95% driving in city traffic,
I am still feeling the results of the cleaning,

Sorry for the noob question, but what does this do? Just clean your throttle body?

I suspect its like giving your intake components a steam cleaning. Regarding the alcohol though, Would this be a problem if you have a teflon coated tb? Just asking. I wouln't think the alcohol would be necessary. I've done this a couple of time in the past on carburated cars and used distilled water.

I'd just use water, too.
This probably won't do anything for the throttle body, though.
When that water turns to steam around the valves and in the C.C., it's volme increases 16X, and blasts carbon away.
