I need a recommendation please

I have a 2001 Honda CR-V and a 2001 Ford Taurus. I am looking at these oils:

Quaker State 5w30
Trop Artic 5w30
Supertech 5w30

I am wondering which one is the better of the 3? And which one would you use in these vehicles?? These vehicles are mainly driven on the highway and the average trip is 20 miles one way. And the yearly mileage per vehicle is 20 to 25 thousand miles per year. I am thinking about bypass filtration, but that is a ways down the road (a non-issue right now) So we are looking at 3 to 4 thouand mile change intervals

I personally would go with the TropArtic. It has a good dose of GroupIII Synthetic.

If the TropArtic is the syn blend I would go with that, since it's priced the same or less than many dinos.

On the Taurus, use the TropArtic and a Motorcraft filter for 5K. I'm not too familiar with the OEM Honda filters, but a quality filter (PureOne, etc) and the T/A should be good for 5K with the CR-V as well. Since it's mainly highway miles, 5K is probably conservative....

I would go with TropArctic because it is just as good as Motorcraft and hey its made by the same company, can't go wrong there.

Trop Arctic is comparable in price to Supertech, but is a synthetic blend and should afford you a smidge more protection. I have 27 quarts in my stash and plan to use it in my '99 Honda with the 2.3 litre engine. Regarding Honda oil filters: most dealerships install the "AO2" filter, which is made by Fram. On this site, many Honda owners recommend the "AO1" filter which fits the same, but is a better built filter. However, I have used the "AO2" filters with no problem. If you are doing it yourself and/or warranty issues are not a problem, many people recommend the Purolator or the Napa Gold. Do a search on the filter section for more details. Good luck.

Any one of these oils is fine for 3-4K OCIs. The Super Tech would be the last one I would buy if the Wal*Mart store carried all three.
