I want my 1950 Studebaker Champ again, heck it was even 1 year newer than my dad's Chevy.
One of my first cars was a 32 Packard V12 dual cowl phaeton I purchased in 1960 for $100. I drove it for a couple of years until the engine failed and gave it to someone that eventually restored it. It was worth nothing when I owned it and today a restored one is worth a fortune and no one in their right mind would drive one around every day. I drove the car from California to Florida and back in 1962 on summer vacation from college. It ran great, never a problem. I made the trip with a friend and we used the car as a camper.

A friend back in HS had one of these, they did handle really well.
I could drive this everyday, as it has the better engine.

I had a 1965 and a 1969 Mustang. Glad I never had a rear end accident that would slosh gas all over the occupants due to a drop-in gas tank design.
The 1969 was a Mach 1 and was nice looking and fast. I was 21 then and I am 62 now. I don't need to go fast. I like air bags and 4 WD. Points and a carburetor were a pain.
I haul my boat and stuff. Would have been hard in a Mustang.
Fond memories but I will take the safety of today's vehicle anyday.

When I was looking to buy a car in '12 I looked at a Mazda 2 and a KIA soul. In retrospect I should have gone with the 2, but the soul was new and kia built the aspire/festiva when new (with a mazda motor)

I understand ripping out the festiva 1.3 and dropping in a mazda 1.6 was the thing to do.

Festival? Its Festiva.Most all of those dissolved years ago in NH.Although one guy bought one on a Ford dealer lot(trade in) a couple years ago for $1800!!! I think it conked out like 6 months later.The last of the Chevettes passed on too,wearing faded red paint and a crudely affixed piece of sheet steel adorning the drivers door bottom.
I learned to drive in my boyfriend's 1974 Mercury Comet Coupe. Worst POS I've ever driven. It had the cramped interior of a badly designed compact car with the lousy gas mileage of a big car, so it was the worst of both worlds. The glove compartment was only about 2" deep.

FoMoCo still makes the old square one in the Czech Republic or somewhere like that, that was last i remember a few years ago.

63-67mpg on the open road, fueled heavy(ip)/light foot.
rubber first-second, chirp third. no hot shot but not bad.
bought back six months ago. reman pump, bigger squirers.
jetta/pickup strut to make a little suv.

With enough cash my dad might give up one of his 91's with 250k. One's extremely rusted but the other is good shape. There's been a few on craigslist here that needs engine work. Extremely simple to do but my toy is in the driveway.. I'd rather travel than buy another and fix it. Did make good money fixing them and driving it for a couple months eventually selling it.

My best friends dad owned an auto auction and I bought a 1966 Chevelle SS396 from him in 1969. Marina blue 4 speed with the 360 HP 396. I bought it for $1,200. I was 17 years old and I beat that car like a rented mule. You couldn't buy a NOS console for that car nowadays for $1,200.
