I been using fram for so long on most of my daily or family member vehicles . It’s my go to cheap oil filter with silicone ADBV and most important is the grip .

I like that I can just go in Walmart , grap some oil and turn around grap a Fram extra guard knowing it’s good for 5k or 6 month oil change .

You can still get them. Why do you miss them?

The orange can is all you need, I wouldn't really want a 20,000 mile rated filter and use it for the full mileage rating, cut it open and find out it been doing a sub par job for who knows how long?

Did the old one leave the gasket stuck to the housing, so now it's a double stack gasket?
I believe he’s talking about an internal leak we’ve found in some c&p’s. The leaf spring stamping has been pretty horrible lately. Gaps are sometimes present where the leaf spring is supposed to seal on the end cap. Although it’s less common on fiber end cap Frams and more common on the Ultra and Endurance.

You could keep using them and probably never know a difference.

^^^ Frantz is sending letters to their old customers asking them to come back too, lol.

It's OEM, supertech (depending) or fram for me....Im not sure I trust AutoZone to facilitate warranty for the filter if something fails. The PG filters do look good though. Yes its rare but I'm more concerned about catastrophic failure and resulting warranty claim rather that a theoretical tiny leak.

Fram has never turned me down. Cheap and it works for OE. About a 5000 mile change out.. My GMC 5.3L has 303,300 miles..
Same, but I don´t like the gaps for unfiltered oil seen now on the upper end of their filters. I have moved to CarQuest Premium. But I would not hesitate to run a basic Fram orange can with the fiber endcaps. I still have confidence in those.

I don't miss Fram at all. The Premium Guard filters are amazing.
I fully endorse this message 👌

I agree! And there is a Carquest that I can see right through my window of my condo right now, so it doesn’t get much more convenient than that! The Fram Endurance was never sold in Canada so it was not as readily available for me
All the Carquests in town packed up and left. If I want Premium Guard I gotta go to O'Reilly and get a Micro Guard Select.
