I LOVE FALL

south florida fall is like a northern summer. so im still in agony. our winters are great though. 55 to 60 during the day and 40-45 at night. its the prefect weather to paint the house, pressure clean, do some gardening and other "man work" that i am to lazy to do during the summer because of the heat. seriously, my house really needs a coat of paint and a good pressure cleaning. the back yard wood deck need some fixin' too. in another month and a half ill start doing my winter house and automotive maintenance.

I only have one season in my area, sort of a spring/fall. the only thing that indicates fall is here is that it will rain for the first time in 5 months. sept and oct are the hottest months of the year around here, it will be 80*f.

I don't mind fall, but I hate what follows it.

No sun, colds, flu, cabin fever, everything is dead, ice, traffic accidents galore. haaaaa. Can you tell I hate winter?

I agree with you 100%! There aren't many people out there that hate winter more than I do, so I just dread it when fall kicks in because I know that it won't be long before I'm dealing with snow and ice and brutal cold.

My favorite time of year is May, when the weather just starts getting really warm and I know there are many months of great weather still to come. This summer was absolutely awesome here, very little rain and very nice temps. It'll be sad to see that end. Even the beginning of fall has been good here so far, and the long range forecast looks great (sunny and low 70s for the next two weeks) But once November hits, anything goes, we could get one day when it's 60 and the next day could be 30 with snow.

What fall?

In The Swamp, haven't seen any yet. The Weather Prognosticators (tm) swear we'll get a cold front (ha!) through today that will dry things out until Monday.

I'll believe it when I feel it. . . .

I do plan on relocating to a warmer climate some day. I do not see myself living in southern nj my whole life. Winters are not that bad here, but still more than I prefer.

You guys are lucky because it's a lot easier for you to relocate to somewhere warmer, since you can stay in the US while doing it. In order for us Canadians to move somewhere warm we'd need to get out of the country, and it's definitely harder to get work in another country for us. I hate snow, I wish I could live somewhere that never ever gets any.

Patman,
you don't have to move to the US to get somewhere without snow.

Oz has quite a bit of not snow (or rain)...we've got some sun, and the vast majority of the country is below 1000m, which helps at the dragstrip

Hardly snows at all in Vancouver. I've been here 20+ years and I think we've had two white Christmases. Usually get a few snowy weeks in January/February but nothing much.

Because it's not easy for a Canadian to just go into the US and take a job away from an American, they don't like that too much, and it's very hard to get a work visa. The only way to really do it is if you've been recruited by a company that really really wants you and even then I think they have to prove to the government that there is nobody else that could do that job.

It's all pretty much a moot point anyways, I'd never move since my entire family is here and I would never take my son away from his grandparents. They love the fact that they live less than ten minutes away and can see him whenever they wish. They don't like the fact that my sister lives in Victoria BC, since they can only see her a handful of times a year. (and the comment about moving to Vancouver, I could never do it, way too much rain in the winter and not hot enough in the summer, Victoria has less rain but is also not hot enough in the summer, I like it when it's 25-30C, summer isn't as much fun when it's only 20-22C)

As for jobs. Just sneak in. Plenty of people here will welcome you and even say you have more rights than citizens.

But, sir, I appreciate your thoughts - you are doing Canada good!

As for the PNW (your PSW!) weather. Yes please tell everyone it rains ALL the time and never stops (like yesterday)....but please don't let slip that our summers are about perfect.....

Well, Vancouver gets almost 10" more precip than we do each year, but even that is way less than back home on the coast. The biggie is that here it just rains more often and there are far more cloudy days.
But I don't mind.
