I don't get down here often enough ....

This is a trailer grill that my daughter's SO made. He got the surprise of his life when he cut the lid and had the curved steel spring straight out. It apparently almost hit him in the head. He's a bit hard to describe for personality. He goes into just about everything with two feet.
The scissor jack is welded on. He uses an electric drill driver to level the thing. The pulley'd weight is naturally removed for transport. The rest is mostly self explanatory.

Stacks, Horns, and Nutz. That thing is Texas-Approved!! Ship it down there and sell it to some rich Cowboys fan. Your SIL could make a fortune!

This is the sorta thing he routinely pulls out of his behind. We never know what's next. He's a very big kid with a good inventory of self taught acquired skills.

My mouth was watering before I checked the post.

But where is the big slab of meat slathered with sauce?

Very nice! I love the "cool to the touch" handle!!

On Sat I was looking at the local BBQ joint's HUGE trailer 'Q (three door sucker) and their lid counter weights are permanently welded 2.5" thick rods on the end of a few feet of square tube - more or less balanced....I like the pulley method better on a single door - 'sides you can lube it with pig grease.

Home heating oil tank. I forget where he got it and/or what it was used for before he got a hold of it.

Good pics. Lots of those around these parts. I wouldn't give a nickel for one. I don't like smoke and I won't eat blackened meat. :)

Here's where that "hard to describe" part comes in. It's sorta like people that stay up on fashions ..except it's not timed or following a trend. If he goes bling ..it's bling'd. If it's something like fishing ..it's FISHING. Tractor racing ..he's playing with the thing like mad ...and it all looks like it's no trouble at all.

I've witnessed:

Bling
Micro motor cycles
Ninja MC's
CB (linear amplifiers and even buying a Suburban for the mobile unit with aux alternators and batteries)
ATV - it seemed to always involve mud
Tractor racing
Mod'd "trick" smaller tire'd dirt bikes (wheelie thingie)
and now Cummins diesel

That's just the stuff that comes to mind. Plenty of minor projects. This is over a 4-5 year period.

It's exhausting just doing the inventory..
