Paul,

Have you tried Opera, has a very nice built in email client as well as newsreader and RSS.

I doubt posting a jpg will lead to spam, captain obvious. A runner won't pick it up. Besides my email address is already public knowledge on my website. Actually I get ZERO spam. (lots of typical probes though). As if I didn't thing about that when I posted. Sheesh.

Thanks Gurkha, but I'm sticking with Firefox for now. This error message seems to have come when I upgraded TB, 4:1 the next "upgrade" fixes it. It's just a click nuisance, as I can send and receive just fine. I honestly don't think TB is as well supported as FF.

My Outlook 2003 and XP clients all open links from emails in Firefox, or Opera, depending on what I have it set to. It's very simple, you simply need to make the default Web browser in windows the browser of your choice (i.e. Firefox) and then it will be pulled 99% of the time.

Most of the time that an application is coded to launch a webbrowser, and open a link, it is simply calling the system default, not internet explorer specifically.

Ah yes, bwahaha. I have Win98. It's very simple in XP likely because MS faced 38 anti-competition lawsuits between building Win98 and XP. It appears that Outlook is hardcoded to use IE under Win98.

I am embarrased to admit I spent ~8hrs (on separate occasions) trying to get Outlook to open Fx links. This included all of the regular stuff: changing file associations, running 3rd party default browser utilities, manually setting default browser, reinstalling OE with hopes of it re-establishing connection with new default browser, registry editing ad nauseam and search after search after Google search.

TB is much more immature than Fx but I switched because I couldn't convince the IE-inbred Outlook to open Fx links.

And these folks have done a great job with Fx so I'd like support their TB effort.

I tried Opera a few days ago. I was ready for a change from Firefox and decided to give it a shot. I really like it, I like the features mentioned above, and I like the way the tabs work on it where when you pull the browser up you have the option to have it open to the last place it was when it was closed. The problem I have with it, I set it up, and followed the instructions on the website, but after using it for a while, it would become slow as christmas. I uninstalled it completely and reinstalled it and it kept doing the same thing.
