Welcome to bitog.
I wouldn't. There is no benefit in using that, only downside. Besides almost all SP oils are syn blend even if they don't say so. I'd use anything euro or diesel rated off the Walmart shelf and enjoy it.
No it's mostly nonsense. If it was already leaking it's gonna keep leaking, if it wasn't then it won't. And a lot of synthetics don't clean that well, they won't quickly remove sludge in the pan like many think.Do I have to be concerned about old seals that newer synthetics could get past..
I don't have any oil advice, but would love to see a pic of the car!
I'm not sure he's trolling. The trolls typically start off with something inflammatory first thing.I think we're being trolled. For someone with a 58 year old car that has just 26K miles sounds a bit suspect. Coupled with such a "generic" question and generic first reply....
To the OP; how about a picture of your Chevelle, its history, and at least some kind of introduction of yourself.

Yeah their classic gtx 20w-50. But I'd rather use something like Delvac extreme instead.Castrol makes a specific oil for flat tappet cam shaft engines. I bought mine at Wally World.
Let's keep the tone down. That's better (the pics). How about some words.
