I Had a Mid, Mid Life Crisis

Not sure why, but I've consistently been getting decent mileage (according to the computer) going into work when the weather is cooler.

Need to hand calculate to see how close that is. Just filled up with some top tier 93 yesterday so we'll see.

Been enjoying the WRX so far. It's a total different feel from the '17 GTI I had. This thing just hooks! Guess that's the AWD part. I will likely have to replace the tires eventually. They put Hankook's on it back in '24 and I had to have them road force balanced last week. They flat spot something fierce if it sits more than a day. No bueno.

Adding a couple pics just for fun, especially the obnoxious STI wing :ROFLMAO:

That car is in good shape ! Now, lose the spoiler wing, and lose the ice dam breakers at the top of the rear window. Love the dashboard :)... It's a shame the tires flat spotted on you :(...There not even that old......

Turned a milestone last week:

It's kind of cheating though since it's on its second engine of unknown mileage.

I did find someone to swap trunks several months back, so no more wing!

I'm assuming the previous owner had a "Hot Girls Hit Curbs" sticker on the back window as the wheels were severely scratched up. I finally bit the bullet and ordered some new wheels, factory 17" size. If all goes to plan they'll get installed next Tuesday.

I also plan on installing a new OEM radiator as the old one is turning color and looking quite brittle. They love to break when they turn a brownish color.

Your subaru looks really nice! The all wheel drive is lots of fun in the snow, especially with traction control off.

It reminds me of the time I put an engine in a Mazdaspeed 3 for a broke college student. He bought a "jdm" engine from e-bay
Once the engine showed up we cleaned off the salt crust and it had good compression so we put it all back together with a bigger turbo and it was pretty fast once tuned.

I honestly don't drive this much in the snow, would rather keep the salt off it in its later age. Trying to do better than the abuse the previous two owners did.

After a little bit of maintenance, it has been a nice little car. 30+mpg is the normal for it, albeit it needs premium. I've been having fun with it!
