I Had a Mid, Mid Life Crisis

Is that Lapis Blue? In the last photo it looks almost purple but that might also be a white balance thing.

I have a '21 and yes the MPG gauge seems a little optimistic. I should do the math sometime to be sure.

STI owners are going to razz on you for having the STI wing, but if I remember right, that wing could be had on regular WRXs as well. I might have that backward however because the STI was also available without the wing.

Yea I think it was added at one point. It was someone's pride and joy at one time.

First drive I had an older Evo try and pace me. Like my dude, I'm just cruising.

Just sayin cause its already had an engine replacement. Those cars get ran hard.

Oh, I'm very well aware of the potential consequences of this purchase. It will be "pampered" and not beat on as long as I own it. I won't be afraid to use some throttle, but just downright dogging on it, yea no.

Can't believe no one's asked the real important question yet:

What oil are you running in it? What filter?? What OCI???

(bet placed on Rotella T6)

Hmmm....56....If it satisfied the "mid", then Enjoy and have some fun with it ! :) I get the whole "mid" thing. I'm 58 with a 13yr old daughter. My wallet won't let me quench the " mid" thing though. So, I'm stuck with a family hand me down 03' Toyota Solara SE Coupe. Sold a gas guzzlin, brake eating, 13' Pilot EXL for 5k. Used a small piece of that $$$ to buy my daughter an 06' Camry LE to use for senior year of high school and beyond. Slowly restoring the rust bucket. The rest of the $$$ went to her college fund. Anyway, if I had he resources, it would be a fully restored 1977 Olds Cutty Brougham. That was my favorite Cutty when I was a kid, and I had LOTS of Cutty's back in the day. ENJOY YOU'RE 19' WRX !!!!!!!! :)

Took a bit didn't it? :ROFLMAO:

Planning on a Euro 0/5w40 and a Subaru filter. Changed no more than every 3K miles from what little research I've done on these things.

Congratulations! I almost bought an STI back in 2015. They are outstanding cars. Life is much too short to spend it behind the wheel of an anodyne appliance.

I always had guys wanting to race my Mazdaspeed3. With the Mazdaspeed CAI and a mild tune it made close to 300 hp so I surprised a few people- when my wife wasn't in the car. One time a Dodge Stealth R/T kept pacing me wanting a roll race; my wife was on board so I was ignoring him. My 14 year old son in the back seat says, "Dad, he's not that fast- you can take him!"

So because I like the abuse, I was wanting something a little fun. Found this '19 WRX local and it wasn't in too bad of shape. Decent price and the engine and turbo was replaced last year at 88K. Currently at 94K. Is it the wisest thing I've ever done? Heck no. Is it the dumbest? Probably.

Anyways...

No mods planned, or ever really planned. Keep it stock, keep the oil changed, and don't abuse it. It's slow anyways and I'm pretty sure the Tacoma will out run it :ROFLMAO:
Sharp looking car - but, not sure about the SuperBird spoiler …

Always liked these, congrats! What are the fins on the back edge of the roof for?

Also, we need to discuss the 30’ of black pipe running across the front walk.

Along with the wing, the fin thing was part of the STI lookalike thing one of the previous owner was going for.

The drainage pipe is gutter overflow. I have a 2,000ish gallon cistern which is my back patio. I've found out the hard way the overflow for it goes into the weeping tile system around the house. So, when I notice tank levels full I switch the gutter flow out into the yard rather than my basement

Will get @Delta full boxed set of Fast and Furious for Christmas.

Practice screaming "NAWSE!!!!" as you jump into the bushes.
