Decided to stock up on filters for the old bimmer since RockAuto was having a clearance sale. Ordered two Champs and two UltraPower brand filter that actually turned out to be Donaldson! (Score) but I opened one of the Champ boxes to find a gasket completely missing. Filter was $1.70 not sure if I wanna hassle with returning it.

No biggie. I'd use the one that came with both gaskets first and re-use a gasket for the second filter.

I dunno if I ever posted my car here so here ya go brother. 1 piece style 5s from a 7 series. I also have the M-system wheels from the e34 M5 with both Turbine and Star facings.

This was an SCCA event at NOLA Motorsports Park.

If you request an RMA on a clearance item (especially one that cheap) Rockauto will just refund you the money or replace, the faulty item is yours to keep. This has happened to me at least a a couple times-- one example is spark plugs that were missing the washer/gasket (non-tapered seat plugs), they sent new plugs and I got to keep the old ones. I did an RMA just on principle hoping they'd send me new washers (I could have reused old ones), nope I got two sets of plugs for the price of one.

Other issue was clearance item in which the part number was wrong, or wrong item sent- I got to keep it and they shipped a new one for free.

Really nice Sam, I just caught one on bringatrailer, only 57k on it! Would love to snipe this one but its probably going to be a 15-20k car. Im dying to get my hands on an E28 M5. Someone abandoned an E28 M5 at my shop, Ive wanted one for ten years, but this one was full of water, 200k, didnt run, so I dumped it to a friend. Still sitting 2 years later, and 3 years after they left it by me.

I had a similar experience with spark plugs from RA. I ordered a box of 4 Motorcraft spark plugs for our 2.3 EcoBoost. The packaging was fine but on 2 of the plugs the gap was practically closed and the plastic protectors covering the threads were cracked. I contacted RA and they sent 2 replacement plugs immediately and they didn't want the damaged plugs back either. I've always had good luck with RA if there was a problem with the product I ordered and needed remedying.
