I find this incredibly wasteful

I find it incredibly wasteful as well.

But you see this approach across social media: take something, and abuse it until it fails. Doesn’t matter if it’s a $78,000 truck, or a brand new firearm.

Clearly, the maker of this video has figured out that destroying stuff generates views, and he gets paid by the number of views.

That is what he does, and it is pretty interesting to see how poorly it is holding up.
I could destroy my Snap On split beam torque wrench in 10 seconds if I wanted to. Or I could run a “durability test” to see if my water loving Labrador canine friend could make to shore if I dumped her in the middle of Lake Tahoe.

Wasteful in the sense of resources, but not to the WhistlinDiesel guys, they will make bank off of viewers of this video. Far more than the Cyber Truck cost them to buy. What seems to be waste to one is profit for another.

Maybe it’s just me, but I wouldn’t consider making money this way. In fact, we had a recent visitor to our house who wanted to password share one of my streaming services. I refused. He was incredulous that I wouldn’t do it.

That takes real guts to ask for someone else's password. Just no.
I probably come across as a Boy Scout - except I wasn’t. It’s a simple matter of right and wrong. I suppose I can thank my parents. Both were straight shooters. You want to see my Dad get red faced with anger? Someone cheating at golf did that to him. He always told me, and with good reason, that cheating exposed a person’s true character.

BTW, he shot an honest to God 77 at Spyglass Hill on the Monterey Peninsula. He used to take his clients there to reward them for their business.

Well, let’s see…would any of the following words describe you?

Obedient
Cheerful
Thrifty
Brave

Reverent

(Done from memory, if you know, you know).

I watched him destroy a vintage airplane and was flat-out heartbroken. I strongly disliked him from that point on. Until I watched a video of who he really was, how kind he really is, and started to understand that this is his business. Seemingly worthless destructive testing. It may be crude as can be, tough to take and certainly fits into the category of "bad" (when considering that making something cool is good, and destroying that which took untold hours to build can approach what we consider evil) But is it truly worthless, or does he do the things some of us used to?

So now, I take his "testing" as useful information, as ugly as it may be. The CT clearly has flaws, and some of them really matter. Like the frame strength, the peel off trim and the crummy accelerator pedal. I can't tell you how many times I've snatched another truck with mine, never having hurt the frame. So, there it is, and I now like him.
