Doesn't everyone use a separate funnel for different grades of oil? What kind of barbarians are you people?

The OP lives in snow country, not California.
We can safely assume that he has the experience and ability to drive in snow without problems and took no risks in passing the plow truck.
You'd be amazed at how well anyone who has driven in real winter country can deal with winter conditions. I could have you gasping in the passenger seat without taking a single risk.
Winter driving is a learned skill like any other.

I agree....but I doubt it gets to 36*F often in Florida...

Yes, but his father engine oil is colder than yours, after the 2 miles.

In the 80's there was a mini-stock market crash. Sam Walton the founder of Walmart's reported net worth went from 5 to 4 billion dollars. He spoke at a press conference and was asked about this terrible happening. His answer? Paraphrasing, well it was a bad turn of events but it was not something terrible like having a flat tire on the freeway on a dark and rainy night.

Sometimes we worry, too much.

The road was cleared already and he was just widening it.....I often stayed behind the plow in the past to insure a safe drive but it definitely wasn't necessary today.

?

I think they got too many complaints about it, as I haven't seen it since: but one winter they decided to do tandem plowing on the highway. At 10, maybe 15mph. No, I do mean it was that slow. I did out the math and got off the highway, as I felt perfectly confident driving 3 times their speed on untreated roads (I had twenty miles left to get home).

Plow trucks usually travel pretty slow. I recall being told that it's more gentle on the equipment.

Heh, here the plows are rarely under 60mph. The snow or slush that comes off them knocks over some of the mailboxes. You can't see past the cloud of snow to pass one.

I will agree to California. We are all idiots in California some more than others though.

6 inches or so here. Whiteout conditions. I90 was closed for a bit

I feel ya....had some DA cut out in front of me on the way home after I barely had my car on (like 33 here) So I had to hit the gas kinda hard to get out of the way...kinda worried a bit myself. But by the time I got home, it idled happy sitting in front of my house...so I won't sweat...

Guess we can't help help it...you take care of them, and make sure they hang there, like kids...

You think the motor cares ... It had oil, right ? It didn't blow up and it didn't start knocking or clacking ...

Think about fire trucks and ambulances. They go from zero to WOT every time the alarm goes off. They run 100,000 miles that way.

Why worry
