I am sure Dexron VI is a minimum spec . I would be greatly surprised if some do not exceeds that spec . If so , some Dexron VI would be better than others .
So , I suppose that was where I intended to go with the question .
DexronVI has a very strict spec, they supply the one additive package and the base oil suppliers have to come from a very short list that all fall within the same performance parameters. So its not possible to make a better Dex 6 without going unlicensed. Amsoil and Redline both have some very nice ATF that exceed Dex6 specs because they are using better base oils.
I hope it's good stuff. I bought twelve quarts during the 2/$10 sale at Autozone. None of my vehicles have ever had an ATF change. (I wouldn't do a flush at this point.) I've been happy with all Castrol products so far. Maybe this won't be the exception.
