2 day shipping isn't a big deal, I got 1 day shipping free off of ebay yesterday. Just a regular Canada Post parcel from Quebec to Ontario. Ordered online Monday at 9 am and showed up at my doorstep Tuesday sometime before 4:30pm.
Perhaps Amazon is organized enough to willingly delay a shipment, but they risk people buying elsewhere...

Usually when I order high risk items I order through Amazon, even if it means a 3rd party seller listing on Amazon.
Many times seller would ship an aftermarket knock off instead of genuine OEM, and refuse to refund restocking and sales tax. Amazon CS always step up and refund me the difference. I've gotten back luck with eBay and other retailers before, but Amazon always took care of me.

Often the lowest price is not from Amazon. Then it involves multiple vendors and different ship schedules.
Ive not had an issue, but Ive had Prime for a number of years now. I wouldnt buy stuff that wasnt cheapest at amazon, from amazon, regardless of if I have prime or not. If the deal is better elsewhere, Im looking for minimal money outlay in the timeframe I need.

We use Amazon Prime and have been happy with their service etc. Just like everything in life,sometimes you find better deals elsewhere,not a big deal IMO.

Yep, lots of fake merchandise being sold from Amazon 3rd party sellers.

Im not so sure why anyone is glued to Amazon and certainly have no idea why anyone would PAY them a monthly price for shipping, video etc.
Its easy to find like priced things every place on the net and soooooo much of Amazon stuff is no different then ebayers, meaning Amazon is becoming a market place, not a retailer.
Geez, even Walmart now offering free 2 day shipping at lower prices AND no monthly fees.
Add to that EBAY and the millions of honest small business owners on the internet.
Amazon who >>> ??? *LOL*
(I still order from them, all I am saying, is I search for price and more times then not find a better product and price and faster delivery someplace other then Amazon and those other companies dont hold me hostage to paying extra for the fast delivery.

It just arrived here, and I just started paying a lot more attention to Ebay. Amazon didn't have the turnips to contest the unsettled legal proposition that justifies collecting sales tax (and getting paid for it) from a state where the company has NO physical presence. They rolled over and did a deal to KEEP some of the sales tax they collect. Obviously they opted for making a few more bucks from their customers rather than going to bat for them. SO, bleep 'em, I'm going to Ebay whenever I can. The Walmart site is worth looking at but they are not as slick as the "ZON" yet. But the
"ZON" is getting a little too free with MY money.
Most states require you to pay sales tax for items purchased online. However-essentially nobody paid that tax. Therefore many states have struck a deal with Amazon to collect that tax.
In Utah the state just struck a deal where Amazon collects the tax and keeps 18% of what Amazon collects.
It's coming to a state near you.......

It is a racket to get you to upgrade to Prime...
Absolutely NO excuse for it taking more than a day to ship an order, I actually have the items not shipped by Amazon in hand before they can get the remainder shipped.

I don't think its a racket. I have been doing Amazon for many years and most orders , whether from amazon or their affiliates were and still are shipped promptly. I don't see any difference between prime and non-prime there.
But free shipping, better prices on some items, a full 5% rebate on my Amazon Card, free Amazon on Roku, perks on kindle its a good deal. I usually do 10 to 15 orders a month and my savings with prime and with the 5% is well over 500 bucks. With all the benefits the cost of Prime is chump change. But if you don't like or order enough to enjoy the benefits don't get it.

I like my prime for the odd stuff (like an ac cord for a 9 year old laptop)or certain things for my son, but for the most part I still shop around.
We are looking for a new TV, and Best buy and Walmart (and target sales) still come out quite a bit cheaper than amazon....

Used to use Amazon quite a bit anymore I've been using Walmart and Ebay. Walmart has free shipping at $35 now I think. Granted they don't have everything like Amazon but that's where Ebay comes in. Bought 3 items from Ebay was amazed how quick they showed up. Amazon seems to push the prime too much for my liking.

Things like laundry machine and furnace parts.
