Appears one thing they don't teach in sales is spelling and correct punctuation.

What is the noun of your sentence?

I think you mean to say "subject" and not "noun."

A career in sales is NOT tough if you like dealing with prospective customers and take the time to talk to them. And when you do come across rude people.....Kill them with kindness.

Works all the time.

Don't worry, I had to edit my own post to fix a little something.

PS: Where is this Michichigan about which I keep reading here?

I never recieved higher then a B average in H.S. or college in any writeing class. Spellcheck is what allowed me to graduate. My mother would work with speelling with me for 1-2 hours a night and I always struggled. My oldest son on the other hand can spend 10 minutes on his spelling words and get an A on the test. My time is too limited to type all of my replys into word spellcheck them and then cut and paste into this site!!! It is not going to happen! Now if they put spellcheck on this site or make it easy to edit again I would at least try to fix things when I see they are wrong! For what it is worth I never recieved less then a an A in any of my 6 public speaking class's I took in college.

They make a spell checker for almost all web browsers now. Easy and automatic.

No offense, while I am no champ and certainly make a ton of errors - poor spelling and grammar come across as ignorant at best. Some can see right through poor writing, others judge you on your writing skills. We simply don't hire someone with a poorly written resume, for example.

Sorry - me mum was an Engrish teacher for 35+ years.

So for that what can you do for me on a 2007 Coro ess wifmtrans adn tark kuntrl and stuf?

John, installing the Google toolbar gives you an excellent spell check. I usually forget to use it but for web forms it's easier than cutting and pasting a post into word.

Don't let these people spoil your buzz...

Sell those cars and let your secretary do the typing.

John,
Congratulations on the new position. You will do well as you have a passion for automobiles, especially Toyotas. I've learned quite a bit about Toyotas from reading your postings over the last year or two. I do not know why spelling was introduced into this thread.

As Steve Martin said: "Some people have a way with words and other people not have way".I think the point trying to be made in a kind way with no intention of hurting John's feelings is that if one is to try to negotiate a contract for an expensive item such as a new car, it inspires confidence if the person can put together a coherent sentence with all or most of the words spelled properly.I dealt with a salesman that was trying too hard to play the good old simple country boy role and actually spelled Chevrolet wrong on the sales offer.I asked for a different salesman. Anyway, good luck John.

The original thread title comes to mind.

Please, for heaven's sake, don't take this the wrong way. We should act as a family here. I am NOT poking fun at John. But honestly I would NOT buy a car from someone who simply couldn't (or wouldn't) take the time to at least attempt to construct a proper English sentence.

John - I'm trying to help you. Not every customer will walk in first contact and just take a car. Increasingly transactions are initiated with email offers. (I bought every car since 1996 this way!). It's worth it to take the time - who knows? Maybe you will land an extra deal or two per month, that maybe, just maybe you would have lost. I love your enthusiasm. You have what it takes.

Lastly, you never got back with me on the 2007 Toyota Corolla S with Manual Transmission and traction control I inquired about...was my sentence hard to understand?(" 2007 Coro ess wifmtrans adn tark kuntrl and stuf?")

Good catch. Fixed - I don't think I said I'm perfect. I'm the largest typing fool there is! Now get back in the kitchen and bake us some Mandelbrot!

Now I'm just pickled off - found out the Corolla doesn't come with Traction Control in manual tranny versions. JB is gonna kick my ash for not reading that the first time!

Pablo, many of us ride high horses. When we fall off it's always funny.

You can easily figure out the time limit based on what I said in my previous post.
