Wow. Terrible place to have vehicle fire. OMG 🫣

Are both directions of bridge damaged ?

The underpass will provide for an easier way to repair this bridge than if there was a canal underneath bridge.

Dang that’s gonna affect coworkers. We work in NJ and live in PA. I can’t help but feel there has to be liability, affecting hundreds of thousands of commutes…the tanker simply goes out of business and rest of fleet continues operations is what I am envisioning…

At least they have other roads and freeways. Some parts of the country don’t have that. Makes for a very long detour.
I recall something like this in Delaware. We had to exit and use local streets. Phila residents are gonna see the same. Look out the window and never ending cars. It’s truly detrimental to their quality of life…twist of fate for everyone I guess…

I think this also happened in NJ many years ago in Meadowlands. A dump caught on fire and damaged the roadway above. Or something like that.

So what is damaged or collapsed? An I95 exit or all lanes in both directions of I 95?

Happened in Columbus in 2015 when a tanker caught fire under I-70W. They quickly made a new path for westbound traffic and divided the 70E overpass to handle both east and westbound traffic.

I was thinking if other side of bridge not damaged they can also divide the overpass in Philadelphia.

Look up the Mianis (SP) river bridge in Greenwich Ct . in the 1980's . RT95 NB with fatalities.

People didn't like the truck traffic, diesel fumes, .

Locals wanted the truck and traffic to use RT 95 , but there was a piece of the bridge missing.

To say it was a cluster ---- would be an understatement.

I think this is worse than the issue that was in Delaware because at least then there was a bypass.
