I was hoping to report that it was "watered down for Walmart" but this filter is impressive.

(I couldn't figure out how to add text.)

Note those big beautiful louvers! Base plate too has large holes. Tight, evenly spaced pleats. Silicone valve we all love. Cute little H Easter egg visible through the cellophane. That base plate has the same marking AA (ish) as the Endurance. Edit: Metal end caps ftw.

I don’t see any louvers on center tube BUT I see holes. Nice photos and Thank You for cut and post 🇺🇸🇨🇦👍

These are stout filters, Hyundais are known for some odd oil pressure spikes so they need to be. Actual filtering is not great IIRC.

Good to see Wally’s carrying more OEM filters.

Thanks for the cut and post.

Thank you for the cut and post. Current Walmart.com price is $10.50. I get the same filter from my Kia dealer for less than $9.00 which includes both tax AND drain plug washer. Shop around!!!! Thanks again. Irishman
Kiapartsnow.com has been the cheapest I've found.

Maybe someone can explain the differences and advantages, if any, between louvers and holes in the center tube or is all minutiae like pretty much everything we discuss here .

I was just going to say this.
I get OEM Toyota filters for my daughter's Corolla from the dealer for much less than what they are at WM.

I am happy Walmart is now selling OEM filters, even if there a little more than the dealer. Even if I drive by daily, why waste 10 minutes walking in to a dealer when I am already going to Walmart for other stuff. Convenience is worth it. Not to mention not everyone is near or drives by a dealer regularly. Now if your going to the dealer anyway, then by all means shop there.

The issue with louvers is quite a few filters have been posted with barely open or even closed louvers. Poor manufacturing tolerances. If you can look in the filter and see they are open I would not hesitate to use.

This exactly. I will add its not one brand or model that have issues with louvers - you have to inspect every single filter on whether the louvers are open or not. I presume it depends on how old the die stamping them is.

The new FRAM I have is louvers. There open just fine. However will they stay that way - time will tell I guess.

Louvered are stamped metal and holes punched (also stamped). No advantage or disadvantage other than the process. Personally, I like the punched holes.
