I have a loud rhythmic groan/squeek when making left turns, sometimes on hard braking. I've been under the car, I can't find any issue. Calipers are tight. No perceived play in the wheel bearings. No tears or punctures on the cv boots. Tie rods and ball joints seem ok. Nothing rubbing. Sway bar bushings and endlinks replaced not long ago.

I know that clunking and knocking on turns means a cv axle or cage is bad. But loud groanin/squeeking ?

2013 elantra gls, 116k miles.

Strut bearing?
It makes the sound when turning, but not as the wheel is turned, I.E. with the steering wheel locked full turn or even in a light turn but when the steering wheel is at a constant angle.

Does not make noise if you are not moving and you turn the steering wheel left and right, only if the wheels are rolling.

Perhaps hub bearing getting a bit loose?
Maybe so. Not enough yet that i can feel play with the tires off the ground. It's got to be hub bearing or in the CV axles. I guess i'll drive it till its obvious enough to narrow down and replace.

I just usually don't like to drive with a problem, I like to fix the issue as soon as it rears its head. But i may have to till it manifests itself more.

Lift the tires off the ground. Put someone in the driver seat and have him/her let the tires spin. See if you can pinpoint the noise.

Front end lifted, in drive, wheels turned to lock left and right no squeek, thump at all. I cannot feel any up/down, left right play in the wheel bearing. Turning the steering wheel lock to lock with the tires on the ground not rolling, produces no noises. The noise is only when locked left turn and the wheels rolling on the ground. The sound is not like the clicks of a bad CV joint.

I may just order a bearing and start there.
