I bought a new seal to fix my leaking hydroboost pump on my 99 dodge ram diesel. This is my older truck, not the 07 model. It's leaking where it mounts to the master cylinder. Anyways, I don't feel like messing with this to be honest and would rather pay someone. Any idea what the book time is on this?

I'm seeing labor booked from 1.5 to 2.2 hrs not including parts.
That's not bad. I think it needs a new brake pedal switch too. The switch gets messed up during this job or something like that. Either that or it has to be replaced after it gets removed. Its the switch that controls the brake lights.

I’m interested because I have a hydro boost in a 2008 3/4 ton Chevy. For you, Rock Auto has a new SKP ( not rebuilt) unit. The price are toggled to CDN dollars. Multiply by 0.7 for USD. There are also a few sources for remanufactured units.

I was just talking about having the shop replace the seal in my existing unit and reinstall it. Not sure if 97prizm caught onto that or not.

I never had much luck rebuilding these GM Ford whatever- simple enough but maybe the quality of parts isn't great either. There are a couple tools that are a good idea to NOT clip the seal as it goes in the bore.
