First FF change hydro gear filters and Mobil 1 15w50 now see Amsoil had a spec built 20w50 AHF for pumps in ZTR equipment very interested any one trying it or thoughts. Cost doesn't bother me.

I'm thinking the same.

Purpose Built For Wear and shear resistance I'd probably run a VOA just for curiosity.

What makes it purpose built for wear? How is this different regular motor oil out there? Conventional 20w50? Mobil 1 15w50? Tuffs Torque recommendation of 5w50? Shear resistance I don't doubt, because its a 20w50 full snythetic.

NH73- Because it's Amsoil and it's fancy.

Seriously though. It's without side/side comparisons with ZT2800s under exact operating conditions using different oils. We'll never know.

I would think it could be comparable to Mobil 1 V-Twin Motorcycle oil or Valvoline VR-1 Synthetic, but we will never know if we can't even compare specs. Overall, consider 15w50 full synthetic better than the 20w50 conventional recommendation.

Amsoil data sheet not for use in engines.
Product was ordered and VOA will be run.

VOA sample sent so yes we might find out more or not I can say it sure stinks more than just engine oil actually quite different.

VOA arrived
Boron 92
Silicon 10
Calcium 3528
Magnesium 11
Phosphorus 1074
Zinc 1351

SUS Viscosity @210F 93.2
cSt Viscosity @ 100C 18.75
Flashpoint F 505

My thoughts are it's pretty vanilla and really nothing more not thinking its worth the upgrade from Mobil 1 15W50 will run it for sure might be a tic thicker than Mobil 1 and great flashpoint now at least I know what's in the brew at least a little bit of it.

Thanks for taking the time/resources for that Dave!

Who knows. Maybe Amsoil's base stocks are superior, plus there could be other goodness in there that wasn't measured for. The VOA doesn't tell everything.

I agree and absolutely could be superior top notch Badestock I'll report on feel as well as soon as it gets hot out.

Had chance to do job in morning went very well key is to pre fill filters and-pump in fluid to fill pumps full finish with little top off. Initiall thoughts biggest man is it quiet with noticeably no whine at all. Smooth not that factory fill was bad but would get a little jerk when hot. Time will tell but extremely happy with the change and may have to recommend it to other users wasn't that impressed with the VOA but I am impressed so far with the product.
